Rhian Hughes - Chairperson

"I started the club in 2004. I completed bronze medallion & quickly became a teacher in 2008. I joined committee and lifesaving soon supported my career, as I became a nurse. I became chairperson in 2010 & I’m currently trying to pursue club mark accreditation & maintain high standards in club."

 


Sanxi-Guy - Vice Chairperson


"I joined the club in September 1992. I have been a teacher of both Seniors & Juniors over the years. Also a T.A I have had several positions on committee. I am at present Vice Chairman having held this position since its inception. I now do only committee work plus catering during club events."

 


Heather Gow - Secretary

"I have been a member of Droitwich Lifesaving Club since 2004, when I joined as a rookie. I have worked my way up through the RLSS awards and did my Trainer’s Qualification in 2010. I have taught both Rookies and Seniors and really enjoy teaching people new skills. I was elected as the clubs secretary in 2011, which I also really enjoy."

 


Ray Ridsdale - Treasurer

"I'm currently the club treasurer; as an accountant by trade the club didn't give me much choice, but I'm very happy to be part of this fantasic team. "

 

 


Louise Meeson - Training Officer

"I’m the current club-training officer. I started with the club in January 1993, and have been a regular attender ever since. Over the years I have completed the Bronze Medallion, Award of Merit & Distinction, along with a multitude of open water awards.  I have been a committee member and teacher for many years and have recently embraced teaching the new survive & save awards. "

 


Katie Holmes - Rookie Coordinator & Welfare Officer

"Hi, my names Katie. I've been part of the lifesaving club for many years now and teach the rookies."

 

 


Aaron Dhanda - Equipment Officer

"Having joined the club in 2000, I worked my through the senior awards. I have gained a multitude of RLSS awards and qualifications including becoming a Trainer Assessor. I joined the committee as equipment officer and have also been responsible for creating and maintaining the club website."

 

 


Craig Ridsdale - Funding Officer & Welfare Officer

"I joined the club in 2009. Over the years I have attained awards up to Distinction and have now progressed onto teaching and taken an active role on committee."

 

 


Jake Cluley - Co-opted Member

"I joined the lifesaving club in 2009. In my time at the club I have completed various awards including my beach lifeguard qualification. In the past year I have progressed towards being a senior member of the club by taking on a teaching roll and becoming a committee member."

 

 


Isla Gow - Co-opted Member

"I joined the club when I was 10 in 2007. It was an interesting step from a swimming club and exciting to learn some new and diverse skills. I joined committee in April 2013 as a co-opted member. Lifesaving has provided some great opportunities for me such as gaining a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification."

 

 


Connor Retter - Award Officer

"I joined the club in September 2010 and I became a committee member in 2012. The club has inspired me to take my national pool lifeguard qualification and later the emergency response activity supervisor course. In 2013 I became a lifesaving instructor and teach a rookie bronze group."

 

 


John Moran- Co-opted Member

"I joined the club after coming from a swimming club background. It was something very different from the usual swimming galas and has taught me some very important life skills. I have joined the committee and I have qualified as an assistant lifesaving instructor."
